Regional Coordinating Council
To respond to the unique institutional and jurisdictional structure in the Tahoe Region, a Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) was assembled to assist in the collaboration needed for human service transportation. The focus of the RCC is inter- and intra-regional collaboration with participation requested from medical groups, social service agencies, faith-based institutions, school districts, non-profit organizations, colleges, general improvement districts, local government, resort associations, transportation providers, and affiliated groups. Transportation is integral to most community programs, so the achievement of goals identified through the RCC and the regional coordinating process will contribute to the mission and success of individual member agencies.
The RCC identifies ways to coordinate transportation services and promote independence and mobility for the most vulnerable populations in the Region. Traditional transit looks to aggregate service plans to transport the masses; whereas, mobility management is a passenger-centered approach to coordinated travel.
The RCC meets quarterly alternating between North Shore and South Shore locations. The North Shore meetings are held at the Parasol building located at 948 Incline Way, Incline Village, NV at 2:00 p.m. The South Shore meetings are held at the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency building located at 128 Market Street, Stateline, NV at 2:00 p.m.
The RCC assists the Social Services Transportation Advisory Committee. For more information regarding the Social Services Transportation Advisory Committee, please click here to be directed to the Tahoe Metropolitan Planning Organization's website.
