Per Article IX of the Tahoe Regional Planning Compact, the TTD's charter iincludes supporting and operating transportation systems that serve the region. Currently, the District sponsors two North/West Shore shuttle services and is providing interim management for BlueGo on the South Shore.
North and West Shore Services
Managed by the Truckee-North Tahoe Transportation Association (TNT-TMA) and operated by private contractors, the following TTD-sponsored shuttles provide transit connections beyond other operators' transit boundaries and/or outside their hours of operation. Night Rider: Free winter night service, operating from 6:30 pm to 12:00 am daily on three routes
North Lake Tahoe Express: Operating daily between North Lake Tahoe and Reno-Tahoe International Airport
South Shore Service
Through an agreement with the city of South Lake Tahoe, and until a new operator is selected, the TTD is managing the BlueGo coordinated transit system. Services include the BlueGo buses, Nifty 50 Trolley, Heavenly ski shuttles and limited service to Carson City and the Carson Valley. Extended Service for 2011-2012 New Year's Eve
