Nevada Stateline-to-Stateline Bikeway Laura Drive to Stateline (Phase 1A)
Project Overview
Tahoe Transportation District (TTD) is moving forward with the Nevada Stateline-to-Stateline Bikeway Phase 1A, a key segment of the larger Stateline-to-Stateline trail network aimed at improving safe, sustainable access to Lake Tahoe’s South Shore.
This project proposes the construction of a Class 1 multi-use trail beginning at Stateline Avenue and Lake Parkway in Stateline, Nevada. The trail will follow Lake Parkway east to U.S. Highway 50, then continue on the lake side of Hwy 50 until reaching 4-H Camp Road, where it will connect to the existing Phase 1B trail at Laura Drive.
Additional improvements include a new sidewalk along the mountain side of Hwy 50 extending to State Route 207 (Kingsbury Grade), along with intersection and lighting enhancements to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety.
Project Timeline
- Planning Phase: 2025
- Design Phase: 2025–2026
- Construction Phase: Funding dependent
This project will not require lane reductions and is designed to complement the City of South Lake Tahoe’s Complete Streets Stateline Project, supporting a regional vision for safer streets and connected communities.
Why It Matters
Phase 1A fills a critical gap in the Stateline-to-Stateline Bikeway, providing a continuous and accessible route for residents, commuters, and visitors traveling between Stateline and Laura Drive. It enhances recreation access, reduces car dependency, and promotes environmental stewardship in the Tahoe Basin.
Stay tuned for public input opportunities and project updates.
