Thank you for your interest in the District and its mission to protect Lake Tahoe and connect its communities. The District is responsible for facilitating and implementing safe, environmentally positive, multi-modal transportation plans, programs and projects for the Lake Tahoe Basin, including transit operations.
The transit operation includes fixed routes, complimentary paratransit, seasonal shuttles, and commuter services. Administrative offices are located in Stateline, Nevada, with the transit corporation yard in South Lake Tahoe, California, and three transfer centers. The system operates 23,000 revenue hours per year, with approximately 23 active vehicles, and an annual ridership of 275,000.
At the June 7, 2023 Board of Directors meeting, the Board approved a $3.00 hourly increase for Bus Operators to $25.00 per hour and a $2.00 hourly increase for Dispatchers, Maintenance Technicians, and Facilities Technicians.
