Thank you for your interest in the District and its mission to protect Lake Tahoe and connect its communities. The District is responsible for facilitating and implementing safe, environmentally positive, multi-modal transportation plans, programs and projects for the Lake Tahoe Basin, including transit operations.
The transit operation includes fixed routes, complimentary paratransit, seasonal shuttles, and commuter services. Administrative offices are located in Stateline, Nevada, with the transit corporation yard in South Lake Tahoe, California, and three transfer centers. The system operates 55,000 revenue hours per year, with approximately 38 active vehicles, annual ridership of 800,000, and farebox recovery of roughly 15%.
